Richmond Iron Sharpens Iron: Excitement Building…. Why?

Good morning men! I’m excited and here’s why. Our final Iron Sharpens Iron Conference of the two thousand ten season is just eight days away. I’m looking forward to hearing the challenges for men that will be delivered by Steve Farrar and Roland Warren. I’m also looking forward to the impact that sixteen equipping seminars will have on the lives of men who attend.

But honestly one of my favorite aspects of these events is just seeing men from many churches, denominations, cultures and backgrounds come together to be sharpened. I love the fact that our list of involved churches will easily top fifty and include Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Assemblies of God, and many other denominational representatives. I’m excited that our crowd will be diverse…including men of many cultures and colors. I’m excited that men will be there from the host church and from churches hundreds of miles away. Here’s why…

Universally, men, even men who are Christ followers, have a tendency to get dull. We have a tendency to lean on our flesh rather than on God. We need to be challenged, called out and encouraged to walk boldly with Christ and lead our families. That’s what’s going to happen next Saturday. And there’s still time to join us!
