Pray For Our First Responders

Men, this week we’re talking about the exciting work that’s going on right now in Albany Georgia. Sherwood Pictures is shooting their fourth film. I’ve told you already that the title of the film is Courageous: Honor Begins at Home. The plot centers on the life, work and family experiences of four law enforcement officers. Now, I want to stop here and ask you to focus for a moment on the group of folks that we would call our first responders. That group would include firefighters, police officers and EMS folks.

Aren’t you thankful that if there was a problem in your home or community you could punch three numbers into your phone and within minutes someone would be there to help? That someone may not know exactly what they might see, experience or face when they arrive. They just respond because there’s a need. I’ve talked to enough of these folks to know that the energy and excitement of risk makes them love their jobs, but I also understand that the stress and unpredictability of the job makes life at home difficult at times.

The Sherwood team and many others are praying that this project will speak to all men but also that it will have a special impact on the folks who lay their lives on the line each day for our safety. Could I challenge you to pray today for a first responder you know? Pray specifically for a healthy marriage and great family relationships.
