501(c)3 History

Noble Warriors is a stand-alone 501(C)3 organization; recognized as such by the IRS on December 29, 2005. There’s a story here that many find interesting.

Stacy and I began working on IRS form 1023 in the fall of 2005. We read the form and began working through some of the preparations. Not easy stuff… I met with an accountant who specializes in non-profit accounting and determined that we couldn’t afford to pay someone to help with this. We were also warned to be patient. Hearing from many that four to six month would be the minimum wait for a response on a completed application.

We pressed into the application process and reached a point where we thought we were almost ready. Rich Babbitt, a Noble Warriors board member, encouraged me to meet with Todd Ofslager, a Christian friend of his in the accounting field, to review our application. Todd graciously agreed to meet with me and we spent an hour or so together at his house reviewing our application. Todd was encouraging and offered a few suggestions that he thought would make our case stronger and again told us to be prepared for a minimum 4-6 month wait.

The application was completed and mailed on December 2, 2005. We expected to hear back no earlier than late March or early April. On December 22, I received notice that our application had arrived and was awaiting review. Curiosity got the best of me and I called on January 4th 2006 (I still have the notes) to check the status of our application. With great surprise on her part and mine, Mrs. Bradshaw informed me that our application had been approved on December 29, 2005.

I only share this bit of NW history because no one then or now could believe that our application was reviewed and approved in under 30 days… between Christmas and New Years…by the IRS! Yes, God is still in the miracle business and I believe He has had His hand on this ministry from the very beginning!
