Minute with Mike | July 2021
Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb…
Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth?
Have you entered the storehouses of the snow?
Do you know when the mountain goats give birth?
Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars…
(Excerpts from Job 38, 39)
I love to stand at the edge of the ocean or at the top of a mountain, alone or with my family, and read Job 39-42.
It’s an emotional experience to worship Creator God by admiring the beauty, complexity, and mystery of His creation.
God’s direct questioning of Job in these chapters is a powerful reminder that He is God, and we are not. He is in control; we are not. He knows, sees, and superintends the entire universe, yet He knows me and loves me (and you) so much that He sent His son to die for us.
Get out into nature this month with family or friends and worship the Creator in the sanctuary of creation!
- Thank God for the fact that He invites us to know Him through his creation.
- Pray that God will give you and others peace and refreshment.
- Pray for dads you know to share the majesty of God with their families this month.
