This is Marshall Shank’s favorite verse and rightfully so.
Marshall is the Director of Outreach at Proven Men Ministries and is a veteran workshop presenter at The Noble Man Conference. Proven Men is dedicated to coming alongside men in the pursuit of freedom from sexual sin.
Marshall’s own discipleship journey began when he asked Dr. Brian Scalise to mentor him.
“I attended his house church and asked him if he would be willing to disciple me. His response ‘Sure, I’d love to hang out more…’ By spending time with me he showed me what true discipleship is, and what it means to be loved.”
Through this discipleship and work through Proven Men, Marshall has seen the Lord move in his life and the lives of men. Further, Marshall’s passion for investing and seeing men find freedom is evident.
“I’ve seen the Holy Spirit take broken, apathetic men on the sidelines because of their sin, and give them freedom, life and hope. There is nothing better in my opinion.”
His favorite book recommendation is Desiring God by John Piper or a fiction novel, The Couple Next Door because “the suspense is unreal.” Currently, Marshall is reading Atlas Shrugged.
“I’m learning how I do not have a mind for the world. How can I do ministry in Uganda, Nepal or Thailand if I don’t know how those countries operate?
