So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
I have recently spoken to groups about raising masculine sons and feminine daughters. (I hijacked that title from a chapter of Point Man by Steve Farrar. Written over 20 years ago, this one chapter is still on point and worth the entire book!)
Our culture has masculinity and femininity, manhood and womanhood so confused that focusing on all that’s wrong is too complex.
So, I find that most of my time is spent reminding folks that God has a plan and a design laid out in His Word. Genesis 1-3 are especially helpful for us as we seek to understand and follow His plan.
It occurs to me that much of what I understand about God’s plan for men and women, the corruption of sin and how Jesus reconciles and restores God’s order, I learned from Robert Lewis in The Quest for Authentic Manhood and Raising a Modern Day Knight.
I’m also thankful that Men’s Fraternity and now 33 The Series have been hallmarks of our effort to help churches reach and build men. In the fall of 2005 we launched 4 groups. In 2006 there were 11. In 2007, there were 39. Then we lost count.
God is still using these tools to help men understand biblical manhood and share it with others. (BTW… there are also a few sessions about biblical womanhood!)
God has used Noble Warriors as a tool to equip and train men in churches across the state and beyond.
(It’s not uncommon for us to hear of guys moving out of state and launching groups!
- Join us in praying that as confusion grows in our culture, men will be drawn to the Bible for clarity
- Pray with us also that our churches will continue to uphold Jesus as the ultimate model of manhood!
- Let’s thank the Lord together for the work He has done through us to bring clarity to the debates.
