NW Answers: Prayer

Do you have any guides or resources concerning revitalizing men’s ministry in a church through prayer?

Prayer is the key to ministry in all forms!

Here are a couple of thoughts….

The movie War Room (which you have probably seen) focuses intensely on prayer. It would be great to host a movie night for your men and then launch a War Room type prayer initiative among the men in the church. There are some really strong resources to help with this sort of initiative.

Another idea would be to have a small group of your men get together to work/pray through a book like Stormie Omartian’s The Power of a Praying Husband, EM Bounds On Prayer or H.B. Charles’ It Happens After Prayer.

Finally, I would direct you to Rick Lindsay for other insights. Rick is the founder of Encourage Men to Pray and was a key prayer warrior/director in the Promise Keepers organization. He’s active and engaged in encouraging men to pray continuously. Here’s a link to a specific prayer strategy Rick teaches to men.
