According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 1 Corinthians 3:10.

At one point in my life, I worked with my father in-law as a custom home builder. I learned much on that part of my journey that prepared me for ministry! I also met lots of fascinating folks along the way. One was Digging Dan the Footing Man. Dan was a hard charging Christ follower who could handle a backhoe like no one else. He also drove a dump truck with a portion of 1 Cor. 3:10 on the side. I always loved to see him show up to dig and pour the footing. The entire house rested on the work he did.

Simply put, there’s nothing more important than the footing/foundation. Many men that I’ve encountered are trying to build their lives on a sketchy foundation. You may be one of those guys or you may know one. It’s important to know that Jesus is in the foundation repair business.
