In late 2017, The Gathering of Men merged with Noble Warriors and invited us to begin serving churches in the area, helping them equip men to walk with Christ and lead well. We hosted our first Noble Man conference in Yorktown on October 13th at Coastal Community Church. The day was great and men were impacted.
“I wore my Dad’s jacket so I could feel close to him.” Steve Coble, Keynote
“What are you going to do with the rest of your life?” Tom Joyce, Keynote
“Don’t trade what God is offering for the broken cisterns of the world.” Purity workshop
“I learned a new strategy to deal with shortcomings and blind spots in my life.” Dave Johnson workshop
“I’m glad I came with other men from my church so we could attend different workshops and compare notes.”
“I usually take notes. I was just frozen in the intensity of his life’s’ stories.”
“Just one word. Wow!!!!”
My biggest takeaway from launching work in this region is that there is HUGE opportunity here! The Tidewater region is a ripe field for men’s discipleship… especially through churches who serve military connected families. We’re already connecting to pastors and church leaders to serve them throughout the year. We’re also partnering with other ministries like FamilyLIfe, Cru Military, Equipped.Life and others to help point men to Christ.
Remember, our conference ministry gives us visibility and posture to serve churches throughout the year. The real work of serving and resourcing churches for men’s discipleship happens throughout the year, in the form of meetings, calls, training, and consulting with the purpose of equipping churches to help men walk with Christ and lead well.
- Pray for the men who shared these comments.
- Pray with us that we’ll engage new relationships and rekindle old ones with churches and leaders in Tidewater.
