Allen Crostic with Reasonable Faith‘s favorite verse at the moment is 2 Corinthians 10:5 and we think it fits perfectly with the mission of his ministry.
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” (ESV)
If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to engage spiritual conversations but weren’t sure where to start, Allen is the man you want to talk to. Allen has a passion for apologetics and will be teaching a workshop titled Tactics: Developing a Game Plan for Difficult Conversations. He believes this conversation is important to everyone, especially to men.
“If we are going to make a mark in this world for the kingdom of God, we need to know how to be effective at having spiritual conversations with others.”
This topic is personal to Allen who himself wrestled with questions about God when he was younger. (Read more about Allen’s story HERE!) Interestingly enough, Allen found himself being discipled after beginning to read C.S. Lewis in 1996. Today, Allen is on fire for the Lord and is ready to equip men to enter into difficult conversations. His favorite book to give to others is On Guard: Defending Your Faith with Reason and Precision by William Lane Craig. However, he’s currently reading The Unseen Realm by Dr. Michael Heiser.
“I’m learning that the spiritual realm is much more complex than I previously imagined.”
Allen says the hero in his own life is his dad.
“He has embodied Christ in many ways throughout my life.”
If you want to learn more about Allen’s ministry with Reasonable Faith, the Richmond chapter meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday every month from 7:00-8:30pm. They also facilitate Apologetics classes at churches upon request.
