Brent Vallee has a heart for working with people who feel stuck or broken. But after several years of working in college ministry, he realized that he wasn’t fully equipped to help the struggling people he met. So, he decided to do something about that. Brent Vallee, M.A., of Vallee Counseling, has been working as a Licensed Professional Christian Counselor for the past ten years, after attending seminary and earning a Masters Degree in Counseling, as well as completing 4,400 hours of counseling work to become licensed.
“I love helping people find hope and healing in Christ through counseling.”
Brent and his wife have been married for 12 years, and he recently finished reading Meaning of Marriage by Tim Keller. He says, “It was a fantastic read” and shares one of his favorite quotes from the book. “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” – Tim Keller, Meaning of Marriage Brent enjoys time with his wife and their growing family. They have a 2 year old daughter, who they adopted at birth, and they are in the process of adopting again. He also enjoys reading, cooking and exploring nature and historical places. In fact, he once spent a semester in college living in a castle. One of Brent’s favorite pieces of advice is from counselor and author, David Powlison, who states that “change is moving in the right direction. It’s not about speed, distance or perfection, but direction.” Through his equipping workshop on Oct. 26, Brent will bring change to the hearts of men and help point them in the right direction.
