Workshop Highlight 2020: Jordan Northrup, The Mount Men’s Addiction Ministry

Are you winning your battle?

The tagline for The Noble Man Conferences challenges men to evaluate the struggles they are facing, and presents an opportunity to be equipped with the tools needed to find true victory over these battles. Jordan Northrup, who leads The Mount Men’s Addiction Ministry, describes himself as a recovered alcoholic who has been transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. Motivated by the burden to help others and spread that message of transformation, Jordan shares his 14-year-battle with alcohol in his book, The War Inside: Finding Victory Over Alcohol.

“I have a burden for others who suffer from addiction. I want to spread the message that complete victory is possible through Jesus Christ.”

Although his training may be “unconventional,” Jordan’s experiences have certainly prepared him for the addiction ministry work he does today.

“Basically, I was a blackout drunk for 14 years. I’m well versed in the struggles of addiction. I’ve been through years of therapy/rehab and now have six years of sobriety.”

Jordan loves spending time with his wife, Nadia, and their son, Remington, and he says, “tickling my son” is one of his favorite current pastimes. His hobbies also include working out, woodworking, and reading. He recently finished reading Communicating For a Change by Andy Stanley. Another passion of Jordan’s is golf, stating that one of his favorite places to be is on a golf course. The hobbies and skills of this Marine are not limited to athletics, however, sharing the little known fact that he “taught classical piano lessons during high school and college.” The best advice that Jordan received and has carried with him is both applicable to his ministry, as well as words to live by for every Noble Man.

“1. Know who you are in Christ. 2. Find like-minded kings and sign alliances.”
