He founded The Pure Man Ministry, and along the way, several influential books came out of the journey God brought him through.

Etner enjoys reading and collecting coins and has authored several books. He and his wife, Heather, have been married for 42 years and love traveling to Disney. His favorite verse from Scripture is the Message version of Proverbs 3:5. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t try to figure out life on your own.”
