Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
I love to see young men take risks, stretch themselves and test the limits of their capacity. The fact that Caleb Eckerd has already written and published a book at 17 is pretty awesome! Destination God is his first, but I doubt it will be his last. Check out the blog post here.
I bet you know a young man who would be blessed by a word of encouragement…
Look around, ask God to help you notice a young man and find some special ways to encourage him.
Cheer for him. Buy him lunch. Tell him you’re proud of him and impressed by something about him. Let him know that you’ve noticed him. Go to a game, concert or event. Pray for him and let him know you’re praying for him.
Yes, young men need this affirmation from their dads. Some get it but many don’t.
Your encouragement could become a critical factor in the life of a young man and leave a lasting impression.
Let’s remember to pray for young men who we encounter! Pray that they will be encouraged to walk with Christ and lead well, setting an example for their peers and others. And, pray that God will open doors for us to engage and encourage them.
