Rick Magee serves as Chief of Operations for Kids Outdoor Zone, a ministry that reaches fatherless boys by providing men of churches with the training and curriculum to mentor boys using outdoor adventure. While in an outdoor adventure setting, leaders can share the love of a Heavenly Father with the boys.
This ministry was founded because of the statistic that over 40% of boys do not have a father living at home. Additionally, the average kid only spends 40 minutes a week outside but spends 70 hours in front of a screen.
“As a fatherless boy, I know firsthand the value of a man entering a boy’s life and mentoring and discipling him. God mentored me in business, [seminary], and then in ministry. Often that mentoring took place through older and wiser Godly men,” said Magee.
Magee is passionate about seeing men’s and boys’ lives change when they receive Jesus and learn to walk with Him. He co-authored Walking on Uneven Ground with T.J. Greaney and enjoys being “in the woods or on a boat, especially with a man or boy who is searching for Jesus.”
