“I believe in the ministry, and I want to be a partner in it,” insists Wil Moore.
He’s the new men’s ministry pastor at Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Recently, he’s gone from being a beneficiary of Noble Warriors’ mission to a champion for the ministry.
In just three months, the church went from having 40 men involved to 800 men with over 100 small groups!
How did they get there?
The men’s ministry at Long Hollow had been whittled down to a fraction of its former size. Shortly after God called their previous leader to another mission, Covid hit and left them with fledgling participation. Wil had been leading youth ministry for ten years when Pastor Robby Gallaty asked him to step into the role of leading the men of the church.
Meanwhile, Noble Warriors board member David Romig moved to Tennessee three years ago and began attending Long Hollow Church. He was faithful and persistent in praying for the church, its leaders, and the men’s ministry.
When Wil assumed the new role, David was the first person he spoke with outside of staff. “If it weren’t for David Romig, we would not be where we are right now… because David was obedient (and) faithful to pray consistently for three years.”
Mike Young became a key player from the beginning. He shared his experience with Wil and was able to offer a sustainable scope and sequence that didn’t squash his passion. Wil confesses he might have been on the path to burnout without those conversations with Mike. Now, he can clearly envision a 3–5-year plan packaged in a realistic and systematic way.
In October, 1,510 men showed up to their kickoff event, and they launched small groups from there so the men would not leave floundering. The result is that over half of the men at the kickoff are now participating in those groups.
It’s almost hard to believe the walls that have been broken down among the men. “More men finding joy in the Lord is going to transcend into the family, workplace, and so many different areas.”
What does Noble Warriors have to offer a church the size of Long Hollow?
Forty-seven years ago, a few young couples began meeting in the dining room of their home in the middle of a cornfield in Tennessee. God grew that into Long Hollow Church, a family of believers who witnessed over 1600 baptisms in one year.
Churches like Long Hollow, with a solid staff and approximately 7,000 people in regular attendance, have access to extensive resources, and many might wonder what Noble Warriors has to offer beyond that.
Wil insists, “It doesn’t matter if you’re a small country church of 80 or a church of 20,000, I think, and I believe wholeheartedly that Noble Warriors can help you meet the need that you’ve been praying and asking God for.”
Wil is a visionary leader with the humility to seek out wisdom in every area of his ministry. It is incredibly humbling to hear his words and see the work in so many men’s lives we’ve been able to participate in.
We only have this opportunity because of our supporters. It’s a work that doesn’t make sense outside of God’s provision.
The coaching, opportunities, and resources we offer are a result of the generosity of our champions.
Champions like you make a difference.
